Call me crazy, I am not a fan of watching movies. Watching movies at home is a little more appealing to me especially when it is something that is funny and my brain does not have to think or has an educational component.
I want to recommend the perfect evening in the house on a rainy day. Make a fun meal at home (meal idea suggested below) and watch the movie Farmland. If you eat food, this is a movie you and your family should watch. In other words everyone should watch this movie. As a farmer I am proud to say this is a very accurate portrayal of real life farming and the variety of choices we have in America. We are blessed to have such a wide array of food and farming choices.
You can order the movie from Walmart.com or visit your local store. The documentary is also now available to rent on DVD from Netflix and to purchase on Amazon, with continued availability for rent and purchase via digital download on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Blockbuster On-Demand, Sony PlayStation, Vudu.com, Xbox and YouTube.
I hope by watching this farm story if will generate many questions and help you to have a better understanding of what Agriculture is all about.
This is a super simple meal recipe that my mom Jane always made for us growing up. Still one of my favorites to make.
So pre heat your oven, turn on the DVD player and curl up in your favorite recliner to watch Farmland. Let me know how you like the dinner and the movie!
